Why do I need rain gutters?
We are all mesmerized by large amounts of powerful rushing water. But how often do we think about the power and the damage repeated rain showers can do to our house? Uncontrolled rain water falling from your roof can cause many, if not major problems. A properly installed gutter system can reduce, and in most cases eliminate the damage caused by drainage problems. Without rain gutters you have a much higher percentage of having moisture build-up behind siding and fascia boards that will eventually cause decay. Water can enter your basement due to excess rain or an early thaw. The pounding force of rain coming off of the roof can cause dead or damaged plants, soil erosion, stained concrete, ruin landscaping, and cause wear and tear on siding, window casings, and garage doors.

Why should I have seamless gutters installed?
Seamless gutters are nationally recognized as the most popular form of guttering. It eliminates unsightly seams and reduces the possibility of leaks. There are many colors to choose from and the baked on enamel finish never needs painting. Seamless gutters protect the beauty of your home and expensive landscaping. Fabricating on the job provides you with a custom fit. Most jobs are completed in one day.
What are the advantages of using gutter guards?
Having dirty, clogged gutters prevents waterflow and in some cases can be worse than having no gutters at all. If you do not have the time or ability to clean your gutters and perform regular maintenance, then you will want the protection of gutter guards. Gutter guards help prevent clogs, birds nests, debris, and plant life from building up in your gutters while still allowing water to pass and drain through your gutter system.
When should I replace my rain gutters?
How you tolerate maintenance on your home will determine when you should replace the gutter. If you're the kind of person who doesn't want to be bothered with the time and money repairs demand, you should replace your gutters at the first sign of rust. Rust will often show up as little orange speckles that show through the paint, rusty colored stains at the end of the downpouts, or at gutter seams that are separated and leaking. Gutters rust from the inside out. When they begin to show rusting on the outside, the inside is rusting through. Often, however, because of standing water, the gutter may need to be repaired in just one or two areas. Keep in mind that just like a worn suit, you can't keep patching it forever. You may want to repair them for the rainy season, and plan on having them professionally replaced during the off season.
How much is it going to cost me?
It's hard to find a web site to just quote you a price. There are many variables involved in determining a price. From landscaping around the house to the number of levels from the ground the gutters will be installed at. A professional estimate should be done on your house to obtain an accurate price. Trident Estates Seamless Gutters will provide you with a free estimate. If you wish to try our general estimator online please click here.

What type of hanging system do you use when installing?
How your gutter is fastened, is just as important as the type of gutter you select. Trident Estates Seamless Gutters uses the hidden hanger system. The hidden hanger is a bracket that clips under the top of the front gutter hem and is secured to the back. The bracket is then screwed into the fascia board with a wood screw. Since it's inside the gutter, it is not visible. This system also allows easy removal of the gutter, should it ever become necessary.

Seamless Gutters
There are many different gutter materials to choose from, including steel, aluminum, vinyl, copper. Many types of gutters (steel and vinyl in particular) are sold in 10' lengths and require dozens of seams fastened with slip fittings, each one is a weak spot and a potential leak site. Another alternative well worth considering is the installation of seamless aluminum gutters. Seamless gutters must be fabricated on-site by a professional contractor,
The term seamless gutters can be confusing because there are seams in the system. The seams are only at the corners and downspout outlets. These joints are fastened more securely and sealed for stability and leak resistance. The Seamless Gutter itself is continuous which makes them both strong and visually more appealing.
Selecting a Contractor
Your first step is to select a contractor. As with any contractor selection, look for a company with an established reputation, and confirm their current status with your local licensing authority. The contractor will need to make a site visit to measure your home and discuss your options. At the time of the contractor's visit, request a sample of the proposed gutter so you can see the colors, sizes and quality of the material. You'll also want to look at a list of references with addresses so you can drive by and take a look at the finished product. When you make your final choice, be sure and get a detailed estimate in writing and payment arrangements are clearly stated.
How to Determine Gutters & Downspouts
The most commonly used is the 5" Seamless Gutter
- 2 x 3 downspout for every 600 square ft. of roofing area.
- 3 x 4 downspout for every 1200 square ft. of roofing area.
For example: If your roof is 40ft. long and 16ft. to the peak.
- 40 x 16 = 640square ft. area *Requires (2) 2x3 downspouts or (1) 3x4 downspout
6" Seamless Gutters may be required to accommodate steep pitch roofs or slate & tile and should always be used with 3x4 downspouts
INSTALLATION
For the average house, installation will be done in one day. The contractor will arrive with a truck- or trailer-mounted seamless gutter machine with the color you've selected.
Each piece is measured individually, and the seamless gutter machine to create a continuous piece of gutter that is custom sized.
The contractor will typically also have a couple of attachment options to offer you. One is the spike and ferrule - a hollow tube is placed inside the gutter to keep it from bending, then a long spike is driven through the face of the gutter at the top, through the ferrule and into the wood facial board.
A better option is the inside bracket, hidden bracket - different companies will have different names for this - which interlocks into the gutter for a cleaner look and which is then attached to the roof under the shingles for superior strength.
The last step is the installation of the downspouts, which will be located as needed according to the amount of roof runoff each section of gutter has to handle, as well as the where the best location is for directing the runoff away from the house.
The price of the downspouts should be included in your estimate, but make sure the contractor has discussed downspout locations and options for water disposal with you so you know what to expect before the job starts.
Quality and Satisfication thats our promise to you!
